Our vision is a future Ireland where anyone with a personal encounter with dementia is empowered to live the life of his or her choice.

Our mission is to promote excellence in all aspects of dementia care in Ireland. To this end, the Centre aims to promote an awareness of dementia, provide education and training to practitioners working in the field, conduct and support local and international research and evaluation, and provide an information service both at an individual and corporate level.

We are committed to dispelling some of the wide spread myths and misunderstandings about dementia evident amongst both lay people and professionals and to offering professional services that will ultimately help to de-stigmatise dementia.

Our values include:

  • A person centred approach
  • Understanding dementia as a disability
  • Working in partnership with others
  • Quality and Best practice

Our logo reflects our vision, mission and values and takes its inspiration from nature, a growing leaf uncurling and protected by an older leaf. The image symbolises growth, strength and support and the changing hues in colour represent development.
