Welcome to the Dementia Services Information and Development Centre and thank you for visiting. DSIDC is a National Centre, based at St. James’s Hospital, Dublin. Our vision is of a future where anyone in Ireland with a personal encounter of dementia is enabled to live a life of their choice, despite the disability. We aim to reduce stigma and promote excellence in all aspects of services for persons with dementia throughout Ireland through education, information, research and collaboration with others.

Professor Rose Anne Kenny, Chairperson of DSIDC Board

Rose Anne has been our chairperson since January 2007. She is the Head of the Department of Medical Gerontology at Trinity College, Dublin, Director of the Falls and Blackout Unit at St. James’s Hospital and Director of the new Centre for Successful Ageing. Formerly Professor of Geriatric Medicine at the Institute for Ageing & Health, Newcastle upon Tyne, UK, she is a world leader in research into cardiovascular and mobility disorders in ageing. In recognition of the national and pan-institutional scope of the DSIDC, an Advisory Group representing key stakeholders and professional groups with an interest in dementia assists the centre. Read more...

Steering Committee

The purpose of the Steering Comittee is to use the time and talent of representatives of key stakeholder groups to provide a decision-making forum for the planning and execution of the plans and the use of the human and financial resources of the DSIDC. Read more...
